Wow -- this is really a dramatic error! It is also beautiful and rare -- just 400 made in 2002. Coin features the Coiled Hair variety of the 1879 Stella, designed by U.S. Chief Engraver George Morgan. The denomination of "FOUR DOL" is correct but the denomination within the star reads "4000 CENTS" instead of "400 CENTS." A dramatic error! This rare and beautiful proof coin is 39mm. gold plated copper-nickel and makes for a great addition to any collection of errors or Americana, especially at our very low price.
