To Commemorate the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Bank of China (Hong Kong), one of the note-issuing banks in Hong Kong, has issued the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Commemorative Banknote in the denomination of HK$20.
The front side of the Commemorative Banknote features the relic of the ancient Olympic stadium, the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games emblem and the Bank of China (BOC) Tower in Hong Kong. These images embody the harmonious blending of ancient civilization and modern culture, reflecting the history and development of the Olympic spirit from generation to generation.
On the reverse side of the Banknote is the Beijing Olympic Stadium, or the National Stadium (known as the "Bird's Nest", along with the traditional Chinese lucky clouds graphic, as well as bauhinia, the city flower of Hong Kong. These icons signify the passion of and best wishes from the people of Hong Kong towards the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
The Commemorative Banknote is the legal tender of Hong Kong.
