The front the national emblem, the portraits of the Dong and Yao nationalities, the People’s Bank of China in Chinese, face value in Chinese and numbers.
The back design shows the picture of the Great Wall, “the People’s Bank of China” in pinyin at the top and in the ethnic scripts of Mongolian, Tibetan, Uygur and Zhuang nationalities at the bottom. On the right lower corner is the number 1990 and the value mark is printed on the other three corners of the note.
