The Chinese believe people born in the Year of the Rooster are honest, hardworking and talented. Never afraid of speck their minds, stylish Roosters are also independent and self-reliant. The coin features a rooster with a rising sun and teh flower of a camellia, a Chinese native plant. The Chinese character for 'rooster' and the 2005 year-date also appear in teh obverse design with the Perth Mint's traditional 'P' mintmark. The Ian Rank-broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination are shown on the reverse. No more than 2,500 individual 1 oz proof coins will be released by the Perth Mint.
