Singapore International Coin Fair 2011 to be Held May 6-8
The Singapore International Coin Fair (SICF) 2011 will be held from May 6-8, 2011, at the Singapore International Conventions and Exhibitions Centre, Suntec City. SICF 2011 organized by Panda America, with the support of the Singapore Coins and Notes Museum and Numismatic Society (Asia).
After an absence of nearly five years, the region’s premier numismatic event will return to Singapore. While the United States and Europe are still struggling from weak economies, countries in Asia are recording strong growth--especially, Singapore whose economy is estimated to have expanded by over 18% last year.
Peter Yeung, President of Panda America, indicates that “Our main objective is not only to attract old and current hobbyists, but also to cultivate the new and young collectors, both locally and also regionally.”
The TEMAN Conference (Technical Meeting of the Mints in Asean) will take place in Singapore just a few days before the event, and is expecting to draw more than 200 participants, including regional mints and industry suppliers—many of whom are expected to extend their stay to attend SICF 2011.
