Mexico 2004 “Angel” Libertad Silver Coins Available

Since 1991, Mexico has issued silver Libertad coins annually in sizes ranging from 1/20 oz. to 1 Kilo pure (999 fine) silver. The newly issued Brilliant Uncirculated and Proof 2004 Libertads feature the Winged Angel design used since 1996, based on the Angel of Independence, an eight ton golden statue atop a tall slender column in Mexico City. The reverse of the 1/20, 1/10, 1/4 and 1/2 oz. coins features the official state seal of Mexico; the larger (1 oz., 5 oz., and kilo) coins picture ten eagle designs that have been used through the centuries.

Prices for the Brilliant Uncirculated 2004 Libertads are $13.95 for 1 oz., $29 for 2 oz., $59 for 5 oz., and $595 for the prooflike kilo (in deluxe wood presentation box); the custom packaged Mint Set, consisting of the 1, ½, ¼, 1/10 and 1/20 oz. Libertads, is $39. Prices for the Proof Libertads are $39 for 1 oz., $49 for 2 oz., and $95 for 5 oz. (in deluxe wood presentation box); the custom packaged Proof Set, consisting of the 1, ½, ¼, 1/10 and 1/20 oz. Libertads, is $85.
