Pyramids, Sphinx and King Tut Featured in
Cambodia’s 2004/5 Wonders of the World Series
| New coins
from Cambodia feature holographic, and colorful representations
of objects from one of the world’s most ancient and
greatest civilizations – Egypt.
The mystery of the Pyramids and Sphinx are
captured spectacularly in a dynamic hologram; the hologram
is set on a 3.5 gm. pure gold insert into a dazzling proof
1 oz. pure silver coin (40.7mm). Surrounding the insert
are other Wonders of the World, including the Coliseum,
Great Wall of China and Taj Mahal. The other side features
the bust of King Jayayarman VII who reigned in ancient Cambodia
from 1162 to 1201. Each 10,000 Riels bimetallic coin bears
the dual date 2004/2005 that changes in a special latent
image. Mintage is limited to 2,100 coins. The issue price
is $179.

| The mask
of young Pharaoh Tutankhamun’s sarcophagus is presented
in full radiant colors on a proof 20 gm. pure silver coin
(38.7mm). King Tut’s tomb was found virtually intact
in 1922, while the tombs of other pharaohs fell prey to grave
robbers. Each 3,000 Riels silver coin bears the dual date
2004/2005 that changes in a special latent image. Mintage
is limited to 9,100 coins. The other side features the bust
of Cambodian King Jayayarman VII. The issue price is $59. |

| The magnificent
Pyramids of Egypt, standing tall on the plains of Giza, along
with the Sphinx, which embodies the body of a lion and the
head of Pharaoh Khafre, are pictured on a Brilliant Uncirculated
1/25 oz. pure gold coin (13.95mm). Each 3,000 Riels gold coin
is dated 2004; mintage is limited to 27,900 coins. The other
side features the bust of Cambodian King Jayayarman VII. The
issue price is $40. |
